Born in Mitchell, South Dakota, Gary Owens was the son of a county sheriff. Early in his career he worked as a disc jockey and later on excelled as a writer, actor, and television performer. He is most remembered for his successful appearances on "Laugh-In". He now resides in the Los Angeles area.
