Normally New Effington was a rather quiet, sleepy community but on the weekends it was hopping. The White Eagle was not a fancy ballroom but it was probably the most popular dance venue in Northeastern, SD. Myron Lee stated it was one of his favorite places to perform. The Trashmen said they also were warmly received and loved to play the White Eagle.  The building was torn down a few years ago.
